It is not a budget accomodation, but for one night it could be a wonderful start to your tour of the beautiful Rhine/Mosel River valleys. I'm going to look up all the other cities/towns mentioned. We are also spending our last day/night in Frankfurt before we fly out so we'll see it then.

On the other hand, you might find that accommodations in the town are more expensive than in the smaller towns right outside. So I think I'm leaning towards Koblenz due to how easy it is to get to everywhere we want to visit. "I would like to stay in a city close to Frankfurt" is a question from the poster. Let's get you signed up and connected to the tools, resources, and community you'll need for the Best. Brand-heavy platform leaves little room to build community. I was searching for wings of fire games, most where kind of dull, until i found this.

We stayed in Beilstein, which is a lovely town on the Mosel. We had a car to get to Burg Eltz, so I'm not sure about the train transportation. We do have some wonderful historical sites here - dating back to 70 A.D.
What is it with this game and lags????
In the area surrounding the main train station there are numerous restaurants with international cusine. Both visitors and locals are drawn into the popular wine taverns, where the famous "Äppelwoi" is being served. If you want to cook for yourself, friends or colleagues, then visit the "Kleinmarkthalle" beforehand in order to provide yourself with fresh and regional groceries. I am planning a future trip to that area and I have been looking at small towns around there.
Kids can read some, but Home Base by Scholastic is more about playing games and interacting in a virtual world than reading. The short excerpts may pique kids' interest and inspire them to seek out a book series, but it's more likely that kids will choose to interact with the series they already know and love. Kids who play as guests can still do a fair amount, which is great. But, the main feature of Home Base by Scholastic is really the community, where kids can connect with likeminded kids around the globe. Real-life human moderators in all the community areas provide a good sense of safety, and there are clear guidelines and grounds for removal. But, it's still a community space, and parents will probably want to be at least somewhat aware of what their kids are doing and experiencing there.
Explore the exciting book series included in Home Base!
You can read up on Bacharach in Rick's book Germany & Austria 2009. It can be easy for kids to lose track of time in this virtual world. Make your family's rules and expectations around screen time clear before your kids start playing. Encourage kids to create their own content with the comics feature or write their own stories in the writing space. Safety starts with understanding how developers collect and share your data. Data privacy and security practices may vary based on your use, region, and age.
Kids explore different islands, each of which represents a popular kids' book series from Scholastic, such as Wings of Fire, Goosebumps, or Geronimo Stilton. When kids play as a guest, they're limited to playing games and reading. If kids register, they can access all the community features such as chat, massively multiplayer online games , or posts. When registering, kids must provide an email address; it doesn't specify that the address must belong to a parent.
Ratings and reviews
To play HOME BASE BY SCHOLASTIC, choose to enter as a guest, or register to access all the features. Registration requires kids to pick a username, provide an email address, and customize an avatar. Once in, all users can travel to different islands, each of which represents a different Scholastic book series. On the islands, kids can interact with main characters, read excerpts from the book, or play mini-games.
Home Base by Scholastic requests for access to the camera as kids may find some augmented reality content. Also, it's a large app and takes a long time to download; parents will want to make sure they have plenty of free space on their device. There's a lot to see in the games and other features, including small details, which might be hard to manage on a small screen.
You'll need to leave a little earlier from Cochem to reach FRA on your last day than you would from Koblenz, of course. It's about 2 hours with the fastest connections, 1.25 hours from Koblenz. Bacharach, though geographically closer than Koblenz, will cost you 1.50 hours to FRA anyway because of the train connections you must make. Mainz, Bacharach, and Cochem are not the only towns in the Rhein/Mosel area. If you want to see Burg Eltz and the Rhein castles (the Marksburg is the only authentic one; all the others were destroyed and rebuilt, except for Rheinfels, which is still a ruin), stay closer to Koblenz . Burg Eltz is a little "unhandy" to get to without a car, and I don't think it alone is worth the cost of a car rental.
The city centre is around "Römer", the Town Hall of Frankfurt, which originates from the 15th century. The medieval-seeming half-timber houses radiate a captivating charm. Further highlights of the city centre are the imperial cathedral St. Bartholomäus and the Frankfurt St. Paul's Church.
Always check with your parents before giving out information about yourself, entering a contest or sweepstakes, or buying anything online. Be sure to get permission from a parent or teacher before leaving Scholastic.com, and read the privacy policy and terms of use of any site you visit. Create a Job Posting and reach out all of our pet lovers quick and easy. More than 5 pet lovers will send you a message within minutes to a few hours with their quote and details. Every stay booked through PetBacker is covered by premium insurance. We also talked and I believe we are going to do a Burg Eltz/Cochem day trip from somewhere along the Rhein instead of staying on the Mosel.

The chat has an automatic filter that limits what kids can say. There are also adult moderators who read what kids post to ensure everyone is following the chat guidelines. Moderators also maintain an event calendar that features game meet ups or special chats with authors or other special guests. When kids choose to read, they are transferred out of the app to their device's web browser where they can choose to download an excerpt from the book they've chosen.
Travel from island to island to change book theme, or visit the hub to get a sneak peak of them all. Registered users have access to all the community features such as chat and role-play games. They can also create and post polls, comics, or stories. A newsfeed keeps kids up to date on special events and new posts. This virtual world is a relatively safe place for kids to connect with each other and geek out around their favorite book series. Home Base by Scholastic is large and there's lots to explore, particularly if kids register and use the full app.
